PMD Forecasts Light Drizzle in Karachi, Rainfall in Balochistan

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light drizzle in various parts of Karachi today, with partially cloudy skies expected to dominate the weather for the next 24 hours.

In its latest weather update, the PMD also noted that some areas in Karachi might experience light fog in the morning hours. The minimum temperature recorded in the city was 21.2°C, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 29°C and 31°C throughout the day. Humidity levels remain high at 83%, while winds from the west are expected to bring cooler conditions.

Balochistan Weather Update: In Balochistan, several areas have seen rainfall in the past 24 hours, with Kalat receiving the highest amount of 16mm. Loralai recorded 4mm, while Muslim Bagh saw 1mm of rain. The region experienced cooler temperatures, with Kalat’s morning temperature at 6°C, Zhob at 7°C, and Quetta at 9°C. Sibi recorded 12°C, and both Khuzdar and Panjgur had a minimum of 13°C.

Snowfall and Rain Across Other Regions: In Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, snowfall continues to affect the region, with Astore witnessing ongoing snow coverage for the second day. The persistent snowfall has disrupted communications, making daily activities more challenging for residents as they attempt to clear snow from their homes and streets.

The upper valleys of Neelum are entirely covered in snow, while the lower areas have experienced light rainfall for the third consecutive day. Further south, in areas like Rahim Yar Khan, Ghotki, Obaro, and Zafarwal, rainfall has kept the temperatures cooler than usual, with winter chills lingering.

The PMD has also forecasted rain in parts of Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, continuing the wet weather pattern across the country.
